The management and members of staff at Chams Nigeria Plc has reiterated their commitment to the well being of all their stakeholders and publics namely corporate clients, industry regulators, government, friends and families, as well as the average man on the street. This explains the unusual commitment shown by management and members of staff in the past few months to the continuous success of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme tagged, Soup Kitchen.
Initiated by Chams management, the Soup Kitchen has been adopted as an employee volunteerism programme by members of staff, who are steering it to a pedestal that will make it a benchmark for employee driven Corporate Social Responsibility programme in the country. Targeted at the poor, deprived and less privileged members of our society, The Chams Soup Kitchen provides free sumptuous meals prepared by members of staff with their own resources on occasional basis.
The Soup Kitchen train has taken the staff volunteers from Chams to the Beggars lodge at Adekunle on two occasions and to the Ikoyi Prisons and Kirikiri Prisons where they put smiles on the faces of the less privileged and in-mates through yummy and sumptuous meals and message of hope.
Speaking on the relevance of the Soup Kitchen, Demola Aladeokomo, MD, Chams Nigeria Plc says it is the Chams’ way of giving back to the less privileged in our society, showing them that someone cares. He adds that, we do not have to be a religious body to care for the less privilege in our society, one of our core values – Faith in God and this drives us to engage in such activities. It is often said that the rent you pay for living on earth is the good you do to the needy.
