people in the economy and banking sector which can only be enabled by the
sophisticated IT facilities. He said as the country prepares to unleash the
potentials of consumer credit, there is no way it can achieve that without been
IT assisted adding that part of the facility been commissioned in the Chamscity
will be necessary for achieving the feat. He said, “I’m intrigue with part of
the facilities here which include the biometrics where unique identification
will be given. This is important especially at this very stage of our national
development.”
Mr Lemo said if Nigeria is to
achieve its vision of being among the top 20 economies by 2020, it most embrace
the IT solution provided by the centre where over 1000 people can be
interacting online. In an address, the Managing Director of Chams,Mr Demola
Aladekomo said the commissioned chamcity which is equipped with over 1000
computers is not just important to the company but to the country at large.
He explained that presently the
facility is the biggest cyber cafe (digital mall) in the world and is
positioned to offer cutting- edge services such as large scale identity
registration, e-learning, e-banking, e-ticketing, corporate video conferencing,
international-based examination etc.
He said, “More important to us is
that this facility will give Nigerians the opportunity to be identified and
transact business in a large scale. It means that whoever getting up to cyber
world or internet from Nigeria especially from chamscity will be uniquely
identified. So all the transactions will be monitored and cannot be
replicated.”
